HW&W / BROOKLYN
If you’re into a poolside soundtrack version of 80s NYC freestyle pumped up with the future fruitiness of trap and your spirit animal is a girl with a bangin’ pair of calves… then Sweater Beats is your man and his jams are the jams for you.
Born in the year infinity and now sliding through the world via his own brand of dream-soaked cleavage pop and lushed out wavestep, you’d have to try pretty hard in 2013 to get through a day without getting caught up in a track, remix, edit or mixtape Sweater Beats has churned out within the last 6 months. The grind is on and it is so smooth.
Alongside HW&W labelmate (Australia’s own) Ta-Ku, Sweater Beats racked up a lot of hype at the recent SXSW festival in addition to the high profile support already flowing in for the gold he’s released into the wild so far. His HW&W jam (the Cassie-sampling “Make a Move”) is busting up to a mil plays via Majestic Casual’s YouTube channel, his Scrufizzer remix is out and slaying on Ministry of Sound, “MLLN DLLR” is still going bananas everywhere but Annie Mac’s pronunciation and he’s got Raekwon guesting on a cut in the very near future.
Want more? …Sweaters was named #9 on Billboard US’ ‘Next Big Sound’ chart, he has a forthcoming EP out on HW&W as well as a slew of remixes in the coming months!
